We're partnering with a growing, well-established organization in the Portland area to hire a hands on Senior Property Accountant to support a property portfolio. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys owning the details while helping keep a small accounting team running smoothly.
This opportunity is ideal for a professional who is confident working independently, comfortable in Yardi, and motivated by real ownership rather than layers of oversight.
What You'll Do
- Own general ledger accounting and lead month-end close for multiple properties
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights to leadership and property managers
- Oversee high-volume AP and AR, including invoice review, coding, and reconciliations
- Manage CAM reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and property billbacks
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Serve as a key accounting partner to property managers, leadership, owners, and external partners
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and controls
- Assist with audit preparation, 1099s, and special projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in property management or real estate
- Yardi experience strongly preferred (Voyager or similar)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level financial reporting
- Comfortable working in a small team with limited oversight
- Detail-oriented, organized, and confident communicating with non-accounting stakeholders
- Experience handling multiple properties and competing deadlines
